Transcript Week 3 DB: Data Collection. For my future teaching career, I believe that spreadsheets can be a useful tool to collect data from students. First, I will teach my students to insert the specific data in the spreadsheet and compare the results of the data collection strategies. I plan on using spreadsheets for mathematics and social studies. I also believe that Student Response Systems (SRS) software programs or combination of handheld hardware that permit each student to answer a question simultaneously can be beneficial as well. The SRS has been successful when used in science, mathematics, second language communication, and English language arts (Roblyer, M. & Hughes, J. 2019). I have not used these tools as yet, because I am not teaching at the moment. However, I do use lists, and spreadsheets is like making lists. Spreadsheets can help with organizing and data collection. Transcript: In my future career as a teacher, I would create an online model for courses using a Learning Management System (LMS). To design this online model I would: 1. Select an online model.2. Design and document learning activities. 3. Create course space structure. 4. Create learning modules. 5. Create assessment materials. 6. Create content representation models. 7. Create small group activities. 8. Create and organize. resource links and other materials. 9. Decide on and signal the course path. 10. Determine and document course logistics and requirements (Roblyer, M. & Hughes, J. 2019). In my classroom, there may be those students who are struggling or have special needs. To support struggling students they will have access to me.as their online teacher, access to a learning mentor, and access to an online tutor. To support those with special needs, I will implement the following resources. Text enlargement, for students with mobility issues- alternatives to mouse controls such as switches and joysticks, for students with podcast descriptions. as alternatives to videos, and podcasts or text teaders as alternatives to text presentation. Lastly, transcripts or closed captioning as alternatives to audio for students with hearing impairments (Roblyer, M. & Hughes, J. 2019). Reference: Roblyer, M. & Hughes, J. (2019).
