Technology Lesson Demonstration I believe the Jeopardy game technology tool would be an asset to my classroom (www.playfactile.com). This game allows me to create various categories categories such as World History, Ancient History, Famous Inventors, etc. that can correspond with any particular history lesson I have chosen. Using the RAT Matrix (Roblyer, M., & Hughes, J. 2019), I have replaced the textbook with the game. I amplified what we learned in class to make the lessons fuller. Lastly, the technology transformed our lessons in history by integrating them into a fun game. I believe students will find this learning tool entertaining and motivating. Transcript: Gaming in the Classroom. Benefits: Students are introduced to problem-solving lessons, collaborative learning, realistic and immersive environments. These learning games are also motivating, competitive, interactive, playful, achieving, and rewarding. These games are appealing, which makes learning more engaging and motivating. They also stimulate "empathy, attention, and tenacity" (Roblyer, M., & Hughes, J. 2019). Challenges: Winning the game could be the focus instead of learning. Also, the goals of various games are not aligned with learning objectives. Another challenge is that students experience difficulty with transferring what they learned from the game to nongame situations. While many teachers are interested in using games for learning, they face the barriers of cost, access to these games, and the school receiving approval of these games for instructional use (Roblyer, M., & Hughes, J. 2019). Strategies I would Use to Make Gaming Pr...

Transcript Week 3 DB: Data Collection. For my future teaching career, I believe that spreadsheets can be a useful tool to collect data from students. First, I will teach my students to insert the specific data in the spreadsheet and compare the results of the data collection strategies. I plan on using spreadsheets for mathematics and social studies. I also believe that Student Response Systems (SRS) software programs or combination of handheld hardware that permit each student to answer a question simultaneously can be beneficial as well. The SRS has been successful when used in science, mathematics, second language communication, and English language arts (Roblyer, M. & Hughes, J. 2019). I have not used these tools as yet, because I am not teaching at the moment. However, I do use lists, and spreadsheets is like making lists. Spreadsheets can help with organizing and data collection.
